On November 12, 1833, there was a meteor shower so intense that it was possible to see up to 100,000 meteors crossing the sky every hour. At the time, many thought it was the end of the world, so much so that it inspired this woodcut by Adolf Vollmy.
Pe 12 noiembrie 1833, a avut loc o ploaie de meteori atât de intensă încât s-au putut vedea până la 100.000 de meteori traversând cerul în fiecare oră. La acea vreme mulți au crezut că este sfârșitul lumii. Acel eveniment a inspirat această gravură în lemn a lui Adolf Vollmy.
